pretty, pretty picture . . . !!

The dress robes that Harry and Draco wear to the Yule Ball in chapter 13 of Checkmate were designed by the lovely and fabulously talented, not to mention sweet and wonderful daughter, [info]akutenshi_akira. I asked her to design them back when I was writing chapter 12, so that I could have a visual to go by for writing the description. Following my general description of what I wanted them to look like, she did a sketch for me last summer. Now, I finally got her to finish it and color it over the holidays!! ::squeeee!!::

Yes, that would be very cool! Akira does such an awesome job with clothes in her artwork - that's why I asked her to draw these for me - I knew they would be stunning. ^.^

I remember that there has been a picture of Harry and Draco in their dress-robes before; were they also drawn by her?

Yes, there were illustrations done by [info]misscassius for chapter 12 that had Harry trying on the robe for Draco. The robes are different, but she did a great job of them from just reading the text!

My journal didn't look very nice either at first. *g* But the good thing is you can make changes as you go!
